Synchronizing Hotmail (free) calendar with Outlook Connnector

I have read that with Outlook Connector you cannot synchronise your Hotmail
calendar (free account) in Outlook, it's only possible with a Hotmail Plus
account.

What does this mean? I have a free Hotmail account and I'm using the Outlook
Connector. From within the Outlook client I can view my Hotmail calendar and
create/modify appointments and those appointments are sync'd and visible when
viewing my calendar via the web.

What to I really gain with a Hotmail Plus account?
