Synchronizing Resource Pool in 2 Environments

S

Sara - EPM

Hi All,
I have two environments of Project 2003: Production and Dev. Pro has about
600 resources; Dev has 500. Pro's environment started out the same 500 Dev
resources. We have added/editied in Pro, but did not keep up Dev.

Is there a way to synch the two environments to have Dev inherit Pro's
resource pool?

1) In production in Project Professional you can create a blank project and
add all your 600 Enterprise Resources to that project through Tools>Build
Team from Enterprise.

2) Save that plan as an mpp file.

3) Log onto Project Professional on your development environment.

4) Go to Tools>Enterprise Options>Import Resources to Enterprise...

5) Follow the wizard steps. Any resources that already exist in the
Development and in Production will show up as a replacement and any new ones
you can set to import. They will inherit all the Enterprise Resource custom
settings from production including any resource calendars you might have
set.
