Syncing 2+ Address Categories causes Syncing w/ Palm to Freeze

I've just bought a Treo 650 & I'm having trouble getting it to sync my
address book in Entourage. It seems that more than one category causes
the Entourage Conduit to crash while syncing the address book on the
Treo. I can get at least 1 or 2 other categories working. Both the Treo
& the Conduit Manager freezes & MS Error report program freezes too --
all three need to be force quit/canceled for the Treo to run again.

I am running the following:
* PowerBook G4 1.67GHz 15"
* MacOS 10.4.1
* MS Entrouage 11.1.0
* Palm Contacts v1.2.1

I have no problem syncing my calendar.

One thing is I've been using this Contacts/Address database for years
-- 1st on Handspring Visor & PowerMac G4 then on HP Journada & iBook
(snow white) & now w/ above configuration -- so my data may be
corrupted...

PLEASE HELP! Is there a better, more robust Palm syncer out there than
the one from MS?
