Syncing always causes soft reset after firmware upgrade

I'm running all the latest updates to Office 2004 and have enjoyed
relatively few problems syncing with my Treo 650 (at least the data the very
out of date conduit allows) until I updated the firmware on the Treo. Now
every time I sync with Entourage and the conduit needs to make any changes
to the Treo, it will soft reset. This has unpredictable effects, from
nothing at all to sporadic erasure of events in Entourage! Is anyone else
experiencing this?
