Syncing Entourage 2004 with Palm?

Processor: Power PC
Email Client: pop

Hi--

I just switched from Entourage X to 2004 (I know, I'm way behind). Under X, there was an Entourage Conduit that I could use to sync my Palm Treo with Entourage, but it doesn't seem to work with 2004. Can someone please help me figure out what I need to do?

I don't remember the details, but you either needed to use an updated
conduit, or you had to use SyncServices to sync.
You can take advantage of SyncServices through either a third party app
like The Missing Sync (direct) or by synching to the system address book
and iCal and then using the Apple Conduit to sync to the Palm,

You can enable Sync Services in the Entoruage preferences.

Look inside /Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Additional Tools. I
believe you'll find an updated Palm conduit somewhere in there.

Bill, your suggestion was just what I needed. However, I'm still having a problem (and in fact I had it in Entourage X and was hoping it would be fixed in 2004): when I sync my Treo and my Mac, certain entries are not copied from my Treo.
I read the ReadMe for the updated Entourage conduit, and I saw that it says there are conflicts in certain situations, but none of the situations apply to me. Any ideas?

Glad you found the updated conduit. However, while you've stated you
have a problem, you haven't really stated the problem yet. We'll need
more information from you first about what's happening. What are the
"conflicts"?

Hi, when I used 2004 and the Palm conduit I never had problems. The
conduit, as far as certain fields go, is out of date for reason Palms.
But its no biggee. Best to always start, when switching platforms, to
do a desktop over writes the handheld on first sync. Everything should
be fine from thereon. Are you using the Missing Sync for the Palm or
the Palm Desktop, Doesn't really matter except that Missing Sync keeps
their products current whereas Palm hasn't put any work into their
desktop for ages. Regardless, you shouldn't have any problems with
sync except that some fields won't map properly due to the age of the
conduit relative to the new Palms.

Actually, my earlier problem has been OBE because I just got an iPhone. However, I'm having new and different problems getting Entourage synced up with that, so I'll create a new thread to address that. If you can help me there, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Now that you've got an iPhone you'll have to use sync services in
Entourage. There are serious problems with sync services and
Entourage. You might want to scan the forum to get an idea.
Regardless, you will have problems. There is no fix in sight. I
switched out of Entourage 3 months ago to the Apple apps as I couldn't
take it anymore. Scan the forum so that you know what you're in for.
