Syncing MSN Premium to Outlook 2003 to Activesync 3.7.1 to Dell Ax

I have Win XP Pro -- MSN Premium 9.0, Outlook 2003 with all upgrades from
Outlook 2000 , Activesync 3.7.1 and a Dell x5 PPC 2003. Since these are all
Microsoft products -- Why can't I sync from my MSN Premium Account to MS
Outlook 2003 and then through Activesync 3.7.1 into my PDA? I've tried
outlook connectors, I've been on the phone for hours with MSN Premium
support, Dell Support and even MS Outlook support? Everything worked when I
had MSN Premium 8.0, Outlook 2000 and Activesync 3.7.1 -- Now that I've
upgraded -- It doesn't sync!!! Should I use MS Win Xp restore and go back
in time a couple of months removing MS Office 2003 and Msn Premium 9.0?
Should I try a different platform -- back to Palm -- at least I'll be able to
sync correctly? Should I try to get MS outlook conector to work -- please
send a detailed description on how this program works? Should I go back to
using paper and pen? Should I use detect & repair-- even though it doesn't
say to do this? Should I uninstall everything and try to re-install again??

are you using pop3 to access msn?

is the msn mailbox your default message store? (when you use the connector,
it can be)

Diane,

When it comes to Outlook, I'm a complete novice. I will check the pop3
settings(i'm at work and not at my home machine) and msn mailbox is my
default message store. The connector seems to work, but what i see on my end
is a folder. I have my own msn domain name and use msn premium for contacts
and my calender. This way i can access my calender wherever I am simply by
logging onto msn. I want to sync my contacts, calender and tasks for when I
need mobil access. Isn't there an easy way to sync from Msn Premium to
Outlook 2003 and then activesync to my Dell Axim X5. Like I said earlier,
when I had Msn Premium 8.0, and Outlook 2000 I could sync this way -- but
since Msn Premium 9.0 and an upgrade to Outlook 2003 -- I can't sync!!! I
always thought microsoft products would be compatibile. Thanks for your help.

when you use the connector you should see the following in the folder list
(Ctrl+6 to switch to the connect view)

- joe@msn_domain_name.com
- Calendar
- contacts
- Drafts
- Deleted Items
- Inbox
- Tasks

if this is where pop mail is delivered, it should all sync with the online
mailbox at msn and activesync should work with it.

if you have a second set of folders, usually called personal folders, you
need to set the msn mailbox to be the default folder set.

Thanks, I got oi to work, but as your answer stipulated n-- Activesync is
syncing the original *.pst folder and not the contents of the msn outlook
connector folder which is (e-mail address removed). How do you make this folder
the default folder so activesync syncs only its contents. I've searched
everywhere in outlook 2003 and even in activesync? Thanks, you've been a
really big help. I appreciate it.

tools, accounts, view or change existing accounts.... change the default
from the list in the lower left.
