Syncing Outlook 2003 With iPhone

I have two folders in my MS Outlook 2003 Contacts: the default "contacts"
and "old."

Whe I synch my iPhone with Outlook I get all of the contacts loaded on to
the iPhone with no distinction between the two folders.

I only want the "Contacts" folder to synch with the iPhone, not the "Old"
folder.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

The iPhone lets me synch with either "All contacts" or "Selected Groups."
However, the only group that shows in "selected groups" is "Old." So if I
want my "Contacts" folder it forces me to merge with "old" by selected "All
contacts."

How can I just synch my default contacts in Outlook?

Well it kind of is an Outlook question.

I just thought with iPhones being so pervasive that someone on this forum
might have run into this problem and could give me some advice.

I just can't seem to find an Apple forum that is as helpful as Microsoft's.

Try one for iTunes since that seems to be what Apple uses to synch.

If you move your "old" Contacts to the root of Outlook rather than as a sub
of your Contacts, it should work.

May be a bit late to this thread, apologies, however, I had a similar
problem. I run Outlook 2007 and use 2 contacts folders, both at root level
and called "All Contacts" and "Contacts". When I first synced with iphone it
picked up All Contacts which was not what I wanted (this has over 1000
records). After much trial and error I found the following seemed to work,
use file export to create a .PST of the "All Contacts" then delete that
folder. On itunes change the Contacts Sync to "Windows Contacts" and check
the "replace information for contacts at the bottom of the page". Once this
is done, logout of Outlook, log in again, select Outlook for itunes to Sync
with for contacts, select the replace option again. Once this is complete
use file import to load the other contacts folder back in.

I have this working now and have done mutiple syncs and it seems to be
picking up from the right folder. I will post again if it reverts.
