Syncing Outlook on 4 devices....

I am a traveling Doctor and now find myself using a desktop at work, laptop
at work, laptop at home and netbook when traveling. I need to know what the
best way is to keep all 4 of these devices synced with the same emails and
folders. My assistant has tried and though it backs up new emails, it also
duplicates old. He also has been unable to back up the folders I have under
personal folders on the original device to the other 3. Any help is greatly
appreciated!

Use an e-mail provider that allows IMAP acces to your mailbox. Then
multiple e-mail clients can all synchronize to the same mailbox (with the
side benefit that they are all synchronized to each other).

to provide you with the same experience across any device and features a
powerful web-based application. Your contacts and folders, including all
sent messages, will be available anywhere and updated in real-time.

You can get it either as an on-site solution as part of SBS 2008 Server
or as a hosted solution available from any number of sources including
Microsoft online services.

If you would like to go with the server, please work with a local
Microsoft partner and resist the temptation of just ordering a box from
Dell or HP without any training.

We recommend Microsoft Exchange 2007 ...

Very expensive solution just for one user, plus it requires that one user to
become an admin of a mail server. If doing their own mail server were a
viable solution to them, https://www.smartertools.com/ has a much cheaper
alterative (the free version allows 1 domain and up to 10 mailboxes, far
more than the good doctor requires).

If the doctor were part of a hospital then he would be using their mail
system and not have to even consider having to administer a mail server.
This user may only have a small office and has to rely on outside e-mail
services (many are free but might be reliable enough for satisfactory
business use). His own ISP might have IMAP access to the e-mail accounts
that they provide. If not, there are plenty of e-mail providers that offer
IMAP access, and that's a lot simpler than having to install and manage a
mail server yourself. All his hosts would synchronize (for the subscribed
folders) to the same IMAP mailbox so they all remain synchronized to each
other, too.

I use Sync2 for this purpose . I sync my Outlook's data between 5 PC
in total. I sync them online (via FTP) as they aren't in the sam
location. I'm extremely pleased with this program!
