Syncing with a reverted database

Ethan Isenberg

Hi. I recently reverted to an older database, upon Diane Ross'
recommendation, to deal with a problem in linking to my IMAP server
<http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage/

Now, I'm not sure what to do about syncing my out-of-date info with my
Treo.

Should I continue using this database, and rely on my Treo to update
everything on my next sync? I'm concerned that things will sync the
wrong way and that now my Treo will be "updated" with the old data.
And if I set conduit settings to "Handheld overwrites Entourage", I'm
worried that this will duplicate most of my data.

I should mention that I'm using the Entourage conduits, not Sync
Services or The Missing Sync.

I had a thought....duplicate your current working Identity. Test sync with
your Treo using "Handheld overwrites Entourage". If you get the duplicates
then you'll know what to expect without damaging your current working
database.

FWIW, one of our sync gurus is a new father and is otherwise occupied right
now. :)
