Syncronisation with Outlook?

R

Robert Cracknell

Hello,

My PC has Activesync (v 4.1.0 build 4841) (supplied with the Windows
Mobile QTEC PDA) My PC was not connected to any network.

I synchronised the PDA over blue tooth, and during the process a
window appeared on my PC 4+ times. The message was "Can't contact LDAP
Directory server" What is the Microsoft
LDAP Directory? we run Activedirectory, and a Corporate
Directory, does anybody know what caused the messages, and how
do I avoid them in future?

Repeating the synchronization, and the window did not appear, so I am
not entirely certain that it is related to Activesync. Is this a active
directory issue or something in Outlook?

Thanks for any help regarding this issue

Open Outlook and click Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing
directories or address books>Next. If you don't use the LDAP server, select
it and click Remove. Click Finish. Close Outlook.

Thanks for the post brian.

I do need the LDAP entry in my address book, for when I am at work, so it
can search the corporate directory.

Is there no way to to stop this message then?

By locating the network connection issue (which is not an Outlook problem),
you should be able to get rid of the message. If some network problem is
preventing the mail profile from accessing all of its services, you'll have
problems. Correct the network issue and the mail profile will be fine.
