System administrator "selection locked"

I have a new computer (Vista) and after working with Microsoft Office Home
and School 2007 for a week or so, it locked up on me. I've done a ton of
online research and it seems that the thing I need to do is uninstall
Microsoft Office (which may be a demo that came installed on the computer)
and then reinstall my purchased Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007. When
I try to unistall Microsoft Office, it says my access is denied and that I
should see the system administrator. It's a home PC and there is no system
administrator. It's only me. I've looked everywhere I could to try and get
rid of this system administrator limiting my access rights to stuff. I can't
find anything! When I install the new software, all my Microsoft products
still display a "selection locked" error message. Can anyone help???

Its likely to be a Vista thing, meaning you are logged into a Vista user
account that does not have Administrative privileges - see Vista help
And yes you would have to uninstall all Office, using Add/Remove, clear your
temp files & reboot prior to installing your retail edition

How can I get to Vista help? When I go to "help and support", I don't get
anything to come up. Should this be the Vista help?

Some how a miracle happened and I figured this darn thing out!!! I was
eventaully able to find away around the system and create a second user
account. I then went into the second user account and tried to uninstall
Office. It prompted me with my 'system administrator' account and required a
password. Once I did this, I was able to uninstall Office. I then installed
Office from my disk and am up and running. Thank you very much for your
concern. Without this discussion group, I would have never figured out that
the root of my problem was a temp Office on my computer that needed to be
uninstalled and then installed from the disk. THANK YOU!!
