System freezes - 3 areas.

Using XP and recently upgraded to Office Professional 2007 (love it).
1. Trying to delete a User Account. System freezes after completing all
commands prior to pressing delete. When delete button is pressed, system
freezes.
2. Full system scan by Norton freezes. Not a virus. Worked with live Norton
tech who had remote control. System scan froze on her, too. Operating system?
3. Word and Excel docs freeze. "End task" screen will not perform. Manual
shut down and restart required.
4. Unable to save backup to CD. "Error in the writing process." CD & DVD
disc drives checked out OK.

Any help out there? Sharron

Use your HD manufacturers checking utility, a bootable flopp/cd, to run a hd
check
If you dont know hd maker, try Seagate Seatools
Also a memory check, www.memtest.org
