System Resources

Every time I open MS Word 2k it freezes the computer then
when I Ctl+Alt+Del, it says that system resources are
dagerously low and asks if I'd like to close the word
application. Before attempting to open Word, my system
resources have been as high as 86%. I've scan disk'ed,
Defragged, run antivirus, and reinstalled Office 2k, with
no luck. Any ideas?
