T minus scheduling

I have an event which depends on completion of physical tasks, but It has a
series of reports that are du at t minus 2 wks, t minus 1 month, t minus 4
months, etc.

How can I schedule these so they reposnd as the principle event moves?

Ilink them but the reports just sit on the project start. If I make them
ALAP then they push the main event.

Miaplacidus,
This doesn't sound like a PSi, VBA or other development type question.
It sounds more like a general Project usage question. Normally those
questions should be posted to the regular Project newsgroup at,
microsoft.public.project.

Nonetheless, you said you linked the tasks. What type of link did you
use? Did you try a "Start-to-finish" type of link? Tasks that are due
prior to another task, (e.g. test plan required 30 days prior to test
start), can be set up using the following construct (assuming the
driving task is task ID 10):
10sf-30d

Note, the above will provide a lead of 30 working days to the finish of
the prior task. If you want 30 calendar days, the construct would be:
10sf-30ed

Hope this helps.

Sorry I'm in the wrong spot.

Yes, that's what I did, but since the test plan is ASAP it falls back to the
project start date. if I make it ALAP it pushes the test to the right.

Miaplacidus,
Are you sure your using start-to-finish (like I show in my example)? If
you are using finish-to-start, then yes, the test plan will "fall back"
to the Project Start Date.
