I am using Word 2000 on Windows 2000.
I have a generated ToC that includes seven levels of headings.
The entry for one of my headings in the body is only one word long. In
the ToC, this heading gives me grief. The TOC Style definition includes
two tab stops: one to set the indent after the number and the other to
control the position of the page number.
However, when I look at this entry in the ToC after I generate/update
it, I see that another tab stop has been inserted in just this one
heading...the other headings at this level do not show the extra tab stop.
I have re-inserted the ToC, reformatting the TOC entry both there and as
a Style (it's hard to explain this). And that "sticks" only until I
update the ToC. Then, the weird tab stop reappears and causes my
alignment to go wonky.
The one-word heading itself does not contain a tab anywhere.
I've searched the knowledgebase, but couldn't find anything that deals
with this particular tab/ToC problem. Any ideas?
