Tab between editable areas in protected document

I created a protected document in OfficeWord 2007 with some areas open for
editing to users. Is it possible to set up an option to tab from one
unprotected area to another?

No, not literally "tabbing".

What you can do depends on how you protected the document.

- If you protected the document for forms, and you have legacy form
fields in the protected sections and plain text in the unprotected
sections, then you can tab from the last form field in a protected
section to the beginning of the unprotected section. From there,
though, pressing the Tab key just inserts a tab character. You would
have to use the mouse or arrow keys to get to the next unprotected
section.

- If you protected the document as "No changes (Read only)" and then
set certain areas as exceptions, there is a button on the Restrict
Formatting and Editing pane for "Find next region I can edit". Again,
pressing the Tab key in an editable area just inserts a tab character.

- If you inserted content controls (available only if all users of the
document use Word 2007), selected some or all of the document, and
clicked the Group button on the Developer ribbon, then you can tab
from one content control to the next *except* that the Tab key inserts
a tab character in any Rich Text content control.
