Tab order fields in a form / in a table

I am tying to figure out how to set the tab order in a
form that I created in word, it's in a table but I would
like for it NOT to tab left to right only, Im trying to
duplicate the input in one of our database programs. Is
this possible in Word or do I have to use Excel or Access?
