Hi,

When trying to get text to line up like when creating a email signature or lists, I will use a the tab key.

In office 2008, when I press the tab key, the space between where the curser was to where it ends up is different between lines.

I wondered if anyone has a fix for this?

I apologise if this post isnt clear, I have tried to explain it the best I could.

Thanks

Gavin

"Office" is a collective noun for a number of applications in the Office
family. Which application are you talking about? Word? PowerPoint?

Both PowerPoint and Word give you the capability to "set" the position
of tabs ... just like we used to do with typewriters. Have you set the
tab position where you want it and then put a tab there? See the
command Format/Tab.

Hi Rob, thanks for coming back to me.

I get the issue in Entourage and word, i dont really use Powerpoint.

Would you be able to explain how I would set the tab position?

Thanks

Gavin

Menu: Format/Tabs. Note that when you set them, they show up on the
ruler. Tabs have a position, and they have a type (left, right, center,
decimal).

I'm sure there is something in Help about setting tabs.

Don't know about Entourage. That's just an program and I suspect it does
not have tabs. Although I think you can use Word as the editor in
Entourage, so maybe it it does. Experiment.

There are no tab settings in email clients - they're primarily plain text
environments. If you choose to use HTML email you can apply Bulleted or
Numbered List formatting but there's no guarantee that the recipient will
ever see it the way you intend them to... Most people do not mess with HTML
email messages or their client software may not support the formatting.

Tabs in Word documents can be set in the Format> Tabs dialog as described by
Rob or you can use the horizontal Ruler. Simply click at the spot where you
want to set the tab stop. Drag them to reposition or remove them. See Word
Help on Tabs for more details.
