Tabbing into a multi column table

Hi All

I've produced a table with 4 columns and 1 row.

The problem is the 1st column will contain several line of text, when
finished typing I want to be able to press Tab and
the cursor appear in the next column but on the same line as the last line
in the previous column.

At the moment if I press Tab after typing say 10 lines in column 1 the
cursor jumps to the top of column 2.

I'm using Windows XP with Word 2002.
