Table breaks across pages [word 2007]

Hi,

This issue is with Word 2007. There are several tables in my docs that
I don't
want broken across tables. I deselected "allow table to break across
pages" in table properties for the table, but it still allows the
table to break across a
page. I have tried doing this with the entire table selected, doing it
with
individual rows selected, tried turning on "keep with next" and "keep
lines together", nothing works. I have fallen back to adding a page
break manually
before the table to force the whole table to a new row, but of course
if the
doc changes, then you have lots of misplaced page breaks.

Thank you,

Scott Moore

Your references to Tables and Rows is really confusing. I've read this twice
and I think that what you are trying to say is that you want a table to stay
whole and not break across a page end?

What you have said, "There are several tables in my docs that I don't want
broken across tables" is gobbledygook that would leave General Alex Haig
breathless.

If I deduce correctly, you need to use BOTH Keep with Next AND Keep Lines
Together for this to work. However, note that the table MUST be smaller than
a whole page AND that you must include space for the paragraph mark beneath
the table is this is the final or only page of the document.

PS If you need to make something start at the top of a page, instead of
using manual page breaks (obviously a bad plan as you have already
discovered), instead assign the PageBreakBefore attribute to the first
paragraph. Then it doesn't matter how you edit the document, that paragraph
is always at the top of a new page.

And then my message goes on to say "break table across a page"
twice, and yet you still felt the need to insult me.

By the way, your solution does not work. It appears to be a bug
in word.

Feel insulted then. Note that you also wrote, "I deselected allow table to
break across pages" and other examples that confuse.

However, I reiterate that if you format the paragraphs throughout the table
using 'Keep with Next' AND 'Keep Lines Together', the table will remain on
one page as long as it is smaller than one page. Make sure that you tables
are not floating (Text Wrapping is set).

Also, you ignored the tip using PageBreakBefore instead of using manual page
breaks.
