Table caption numbering

I

Ike Tolentino

I was successful in inserting TAble, figure and other sorts of captions using
regular numbering or even using the "include the chapter heading option".
However, in one of the sections of the chapter of my recent document, chapter
10 to be specific, it displays in the pull down menu that the first table
caption is "Table 10-1", after typing the caption and pressing Ok, the
display in the text was "Table 0-1" instead of TAble 10-1, which it earlier
showed. It is the same for the whole chapter, but surprisingly in the other
chapters of the document, it is perfectly correct.

Captions with chapter numbering are made up of two fields: a STYLEREF field
that references the heading number, and a SEQ field for the caption number.
When the STYLEREF displays zero, the reason is usually that there is a blank
paragraph (in a heading style) whose heading number has been suppressed.
Find the blank paragraph and apply the Normal style to it, for example by
pressing Ctrl+Shift+N, or (which is even better) delete it entirely and add
some Spacing Before (or Spacing After) to create vertical space between
paragraphs.
