Table captions won't number correctly

I have a document with about 30 tables in it, and I have
two tables that won't number right. I've tried inserting a
table between tables 5 and 7, and the table caption number
always comes out 7, not 6. Same thing happens between
tables 12 and 14.

Also, these tables won't appear in the table of
figures:tables I created, if I correct their numbers
manually. I've checked and they are marked as captions.

Can anyone help? I've been working on this for days and
spent hours going throught MS Knowledge base.

Turn the show hide tool on (backwardP) look to see if you have accidently
given something the same style that you are using for the "table" It may be
the caption style or some other. When you have found the mis labeled item
select it and change its style. That should correct your number sequences.
