table column header wrapping in Project Pro 2003

1. Is there someplace to change the default to "NO" column header wrapping?
2. Unchecking the "Header Wrapping" box (in the window shown by
double-clicking the column from the table in a view screen) does not hold. It
resets immediately to checked.
3. Changing the flag setting in the edit table screen does not hold for all
line items. It immediately resets to "Yes".
4. Unchecking the "auto-fit" box in the edit table screen does not hold or
effect the table.
5. If the column widths are adjusted to make all the text fit in the column
used as the table in a view, it does not necessarily fix the header text
wrapping if that same table is used in a custom report even when all the text
is showing.
6. Deleting the table from the Global does not help the project file to
maintain the "no" header wrapping change attempts.

Can anybody get this to work?

Hi Ray,

I am running MS Project 2003 Professional with SP1 on Windows XP SP2 but was
unable to replicate your problems. All settings stayed as I set them.
ASAIK, there isn't any way to change the default on column headings to no
wrapping.
Does this happen with all of your files or only a specific file? If it is
only one file, there may be a problem with corruption. See FAQ #43 at:
www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm for a possible remedy.

Hope this helps.

Hi Ray,

Before reinstalling, have you installed the latest service pack for Project
2003? I would try that first, then try Detect and Repair through the Help
menu. If that fails a reinstall may be in order.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thank You for your insight. I have Sp-1 installed and will try the detect and
repair. I did not know that was in the menu
