table corrupted error

I keep getting an error message: A table in this document has become
corrupted. To recover the contents of the table: select the table and choose
Convert Table To Text from the table menu. When I click ok Word just closes.
I get that message even if there are no tables in the document.

What do I have to do to prevent that? Is there a way to recover the
document? I use Word 2002.

Thanks,
Chuck

I encounter the same problem in word 2000. And I save the file in a flash. And I use word 2003 to open it. You do this: Open a blank word document. Then click file then open then click the corrupt word document. then click the arrow in open you will see word repair click that one. Mine fixed with that. I hope your will be fixed to.

God bless you.

Teddy,

Thanks. I already deleted the files and can't try your solution but I will
remember it next time.
