Table disappears half way across page in word when in 'print' view

I've set up a table in Word which is pretty wide and long, so I set up the
relevant pages with the table on it to landscape, but the table only shows
about half of the width in print layout although I know it's all there as it
shows it's full width in 'outline view' and 'web view', but I can't work out
how to get the whole table to show on the page in 'print view'. I've spent
all afternoon trying to work it out!

Is there something I'm missing?!

Thanks in advance.

A table can be as wide as you want it in a Web page (though users may have
to scroll to see it all); in Normal and Outline view, it can also be shown
in its entirety (by scrolling or zooming out). But Print Layout view shows
you what will print, and what will print is only the amount that will fit on
the page. Assuming Word 2000 or above, go into Table Properties and, on the
Table tab, set the preferred width of the entire table to 100%. This will
bring it back to margin width. Then you will have to figure out what to do
to make it fit: reduce the margins, reduce the font size, allow more cells
to wrap, or completely rethink the table (for example, sometimes you can
swap rows and columns and make it a long table instead of a wide one).

If you are determined to have the table wider than the page, then you will
have to split it over two pages (though this would be better done over two
facing portrait pages). There are some clever tricks to doing this, but I
would advise avoiding it if possible.

I had the same problem. It has to do with columns. The problem seemed to
get solved when I went to Format > Columns, and chose 1 column. The
Important thing is (I think) to say Apply to : WHOLE DOCUMENT, as opposed to
just the selected text.

The important thing is to make sure that the "Equal column width" box is
checked, which is accomplished by checking on the One box, not just setting
the number of columns to 1 in the spin box.
