Table Formula Help

I'm having calculation issues. In document A I have several different types
of formulas that caluculate automatically upon entry in the document. In
document B I have several calculations as well, but these do not
automactially calculate upon entry of the document. I know if you make
modification to the calculation you have to select F9 to have it update, but
I can't get the fields to automatically update upon entry in Document B. I
do have the option to "Update Fields" selected off the print menu, but that
should have nothing to do with viewing/editing my document. Is there
anything I'm missing. I know this is possible as I can do it document A, and
all of the setting are the same.

By "entry in the document" do you mean when you open it? Switch to the window?
Type something into it?

Which version of Word are we working with? Is either document protected as a
form?

"Upon Entry" does mean once I open the document, I've tried opening this
document in word 2000, 2002, and 2003 all the results are the same. The
document is not pretected
