Table heading row won't repeat

C

Craig S.

Hello,

I've got a table that I can't get the top row to repeat as a heading
on subsequent pages. I've followed the directions exactly in the help,
but nothing helps.

Any suggestions?

simple fix would be to manually insert the heading on each page,
provided there's a managable number of pages.

so, insert a row on the top of the table, then copy paste the heading
into empty row.

just a suggestion.

I have the same problem. I think insert a row manually is not a good
method to solve this problem. Because sometime I do not sure whether
the table will be on different page.

I quote from Microsoft Office 2003 Top 100 Simplified Tips and Tricks
by Sherry Willard Kinkoph. The publisher is Wiley Publishing Inc.

"The Repeat Row Headings command, which is only visible in Print
Layout view, instructs Word to repeat the column titles for each page
when the table appears.

Click the first row containing the column headings you want to view.

Click Table.

Click Head Rows Repeat."

It continues with:

"If your table uses automatic page breaks, Word automatically repeats
table headings on new pages that result from those breaks. If you
insert a manual page break into a table, Word does not repeat the
headings."

I hope it works out.
