table in Word

Hi,
In cells within a table, there is a lot of text with text form fields for
people to fill in 'on screen'.
I am currently deleting all these text form fields in a second version so it
can be PDF'd as an alternative to the word document (web site).
As I am deleting the text form fields, I am leaving enough white space to
allow the insertion of an Adobe text field however, my problem is that I need
to leave space (about 20 characters wide) at the beginning of a line within a
large amount of text.
Hitting the space bar does not move the cursor (and following text) along.
Using the tab key moves to a different cell entirely.
Any ideas of how to achieve this?
Thanks

You can insert a tab character with Ctrl+Tab, or you may be able to achieve
what you want with nonbreaking spaces, but if you're trying to do this at
the beginning of a line, it sounds like you need a line break at the end of
the previous line.
