Table is forcing a blank page to be present.

Hello group
I run
Win 2000 and office 2000
In word, I created a document with a table designed specifically for
printing on special paper, the table occupies the entire printable area on
page 1. It appears on the page just as I want it to and I have no problems
with the table or the contents of the cells.
The problem I am having is: word insist on creating a page 2 and leaving it
blank.
I can not, for the life of me, make the second page go away. It is a PITA
when printing, I can work around it but would rather it be gone. Is there
anyone out there who knows how to get rid of it?

Sure IS a PITA, huh? Here's what you do. Turn your show/hide button on. Word
always puts a paragraph return after a table. Select that paragraph return
by hitting Ctrl+End and then Shift+Right arrow. Then format the font size by
typing a 1 into the font size field. That should make that paragraph return
really little so it doesn't force the page break.
**** Hope it helps! ****

Howdy --
You could also select the paragraph marker after the table and FORMAT
| FONT from the 'Menu Bar' and set the 'Effects' to 'Hidden' by
selecting the 'Hidden' checkbox. I usually make the paragraph marker
a different color (e.g., blue) to indicate that it has been 'hidden'.
Once it is hidden, the extra page will not print.
