Table Lookup?

R

Roger Emerick

I use Vlookup and Hlookup frequently. Sometimes I'd like
to look up a value in a table, where the first row and
first column contain the lookup values, which may not be
in alph numeric sorted order. I there a Table Lookup
function? I can't find one. Thanks - Roger

This may be what you are looking for.......

You have a table A1:J10

Say A1:A10 contains labels A through J and B1:J1 contains labels Q through Y

B2:J10 contains data.

One method is to select the entire table A1:J10 then choose
Insert>Name>Create, and select top row and left column.

Then use the intersect functionality:

=E W

This will return the value of the cell at the intersection of the row 5(E) and
column H(W)
