Table of Contents entry with some words removed

I have a document with a Table of Contents set up (and I've used
Headings and styles obviously). I have one section that the headings
look like this:

1.1 Name: blahblahblah

In the TOC I would like just

1.1 blahblahblah

to show up.

Is this possible?

I had previously set up fields at the end of each line like this:

{ TC "blahblahblah" \f C \l 5 }

to have it show up in the TOC as style TOC 5 and not have the word
'Name' included. But how do I now incorporate this outline number
also? I had thought of just typing it in my field - but then it won't
update when more sections are added in the future.

By the way - I am using Word 2003 SP1 in the MS Office Profession
Edition 2003. I just sent another post a minute ago and forgot to
write that in.

Thanks,
Laurie

Hi Terrapinie,

Have you tried inserting a cross-reference to the number into the TC
field? (Insert/Reference/Cross reference)

Cindy-

That worked, and I do that those entries in the TOC formatted
correctly. However, if I add new section headings, these field codes
do not automatically update. I will still have to manually go through
all the headings and change them. Is there anyway to get them to
update automatically (or even updating if I right click and go to
update field)?

Thanks,
Laurie

Hi Terrapinie,

Try Ctrl+A, F9?

That didn't work. I think I'll just put the lines as heading 5 and
the TOC will have the word 'Name' in it. People will just have to
live with that. There are just somethings that can't be done
automatically all the time!!

Thanks again,
Laurie
