Close the notebook. Close OneNote. Use Windows Explorer to move the files.
Open OneNote. Re-open the notebook. :)

hi John, the notebook is stored on sharepoint server and is shared. I tried
to change the location property, then a popup came up saying its
synchronising, when i looked the property again after the popup disappeared
itself, the location ramians unchanged. any ideas?

Hello Fei,

Can you check the file system where you moved the notebook from and to, and
see if it has been moved? Also, did you move it from a sharepoint site to a
non-sharepoint location, or from one sharepoint server to another? How long
did you wait for the sync operation to complete?

Lastly, was this a shared notebook or one only you had permissions to?

Thanks,

In OneNote 2007, click File | Notebook Properties.

There is a button to change the location of the notebook.

Hope this helps,
John

Thanks Kathy, I tried to do it in Windows Explorer view, but the problem is
that the OneNote Table of Content for that notebook is invisible in this
view. I tried to more the sections to other folders but the OneNote Table of
Content was left

You can ignore the table of contents when moving notebooks - it'll be
regenerated the next time OneNote syncs to that notebook.

Thanks for the confirmation on this Ilya. I wrote a post saying that, but
then canceled it as I wasn't positive. (I know, you have all told me that
before... It just doesn't stick.:) )
