Table of Contents Problem

I am inserting a "simple" TOC, but it goes onto a second page, and the first
line on the second page jogs over a space. This happens with other TOC
styles. There is a paragraph mark in front of that first line on the second
page that I can't get rid of. Any solutions? I hope my TOC is not limited to
one page without a formatting glitch! (ASAP)
