I have a document formatted with paragraph styles which
contain outline numbering (Because of network issues, I
did not use the built-in heading styles). The second
level looks like this:
1.1 Name. The name of the partnership is .....
When generating a table of contents, the entire paragraph
appears. Is there any way (using a TOC switch, for
example) to truncate the entry so that only "1.1 Name"
appears (i.e., everything in the first 'sentence' of the
paragraph)?
I know I can do it by including a hidden paragraph mark
after "Name". I can also come reasonably close (with a
lot more work) by marking "Name" as an index entry (but
that does not show the numbering "1.1".
This may have been answered a few months ago, but (of
course) I did not need it then for any of my documents.
