Table of Contents

I have a table of contents in my document. It has 3 levels They all have
page numbers associated with each item. I want only the level 3 entrys
to show page numbers in the TOC. All the options I can find give me the
choice of page numbers for all levels or no page numbers for all levels.
Is there a way I can have only level 3 entrys showing page numbers

I don't think so.

I don't know /what/ this would do to the printing, but you might try
setting the right-hand tab position (where the numbers go) //way//
off the right-hand side of the page ...

You might also try setting the undesirable text invisible. You'll
likely need to do that again every time the TOC is updated.

I can see why you want to do this; it is such a normal layout that one
wonders why Word doesn't let us do it.

There is another approach that is more robust but also takes a bit more
time. If you have finalized your document structure (i.e. you aren't
going to add or remove heads or sub-heads) then insert cross-references
to each item manually, composing your own TOC. That way you can put
page numbers only where you want them, and they can update automatically
when you edit.
