Can anyone guide me as to what manual to purchase to allow me in simple terms to set up a table of contents? Or, online network site. I have a long legal document that I need to create a table of contents for and do it quickly. CA

Hi Connie,

You may want to check the information on the MS Word MVP site
http://word.mvps.org

For more detail, you can use the Table of Contents section
(red topic, not the blue header) on
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Numbering/WordsNumberingExplained.htm
and
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting/TOCSwitches.htm

You may also want to visit the Word numbering newsgroup
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.word.numbering
