table of tables numbering

In Word 2007, I've used "insert caption" to make captions for all of the
tables in my document. The number of captions within the text is OK, but when
I try to make a "table of tables" (using the "insert table of figures"
option), the table of tables skips some of the tables. I already made sure
they all use the caption style and I've tried re-making all of the captions,
but nothing seems to work. What am I doing wrong?

Assuming that the table is created from caption labels (or, more accurately,
SEQ fields), verify that the field codes are correct. Typically, they should
all look similar to Table { SEQ Table }.

Also, make sure that the fields haven't inadvertently been formatted as
hidden text (which would also mean that they are invisible in Print
Preview).
