Table row extends unexpectedly

I have a template and a table in it. I am entering data
into a first row(table has 2 columns). I hit a Tab key to
go to a next row, which gets extended automatically. I am
not allowing row to break across pages and under options
I have "Don't resize to fit contents".
The thing is that the next inputted row goes to the next
page? What have I done wrong?

Well, I'd consider this to be normal behavior if the table
has reached the bottom of the page? If it has not, the
problem may have to do with the paragraph formatting (Keep
with next and Keep together) that you may have applied to
the table, and the text following it?
