Table Security

David Tunstall

Is there any way that I can disallow users from importing
tables from my database into their own database. I have
it split into Data and Application databases, but I have
noticed that a user has imported the tables from the data
database into his own to have a play about with.

The database is password protected but obviously he knows
the password as he is a user.

Let me know if anything can be done.

Thanks in advance
David

If you use proper Access security, you can remove all users permissions
from the tables, and only allow them access through the forms and queries
that you set up.

Using a file password is not secure and does not really protect anything.

Hi David,

You would need to secure the database using Microsoft Access User Level
security. Do not allow Administer permissions for the tables in question
for those users (especially the Admin user).

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.
