Table show/hide gridlines doesn't work

When I insert a table into a document (Word 2000) I can't hide the gridlines
without making the gridlines white. The show/hide gridlines under the Table
menu does nothing at all on my computer. On my laptop computer it works
perfectly.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Let's make sure we're on the same page here. When you create a table, Word
creates that table with borders (outside and inside). If you try to click
"Hide gridlines, nothing happens because the table still has borders. Turn
on the "Tables and Borders" toolbar, click the arrow on the "Borders" icon
and select "No borders". Try to hide and show gridlines now.

Does that work?

Yes that is the problem. With all printable margins removed, I cannot hide
the gridlines.

I have no problems with any other computer using Word and tables.

If you're in Print Layout view and have "Text boundaries" enabled (Tools |
Options | View), then you'll still see the cell boundaries. They will not
print.

Aha that solved it!
Thank you Suzanne

I have been using Word since version 2 for DOS and this little thing I found
quite annoying and couldn't figure it out. I never associated the boundaries
of tables with the show print boundaries of pages. Live and learn.
