Table size and column sizes

I recently had XP installed. Nothing seems to work
right. I cannot get Table size and column to stay the
size I type into the property sheet. I type the exact
size of the table, the size of each column and keeps
changing. I am unable to merge it with other tables
because the size will not stay the same. This has never
been a problem in Word. Whatever I typed stayed.

Can someone tell me what is going on? I cannot get the
sizes to be fixed.

I would appreciate an email from someone that could
advise me on this.

Hi Muriel,

Which version of Word did you used to use?

Have you turned off the auto-resize option for the Table in
Table/Table Properties/Table/Options?
