Tables in 1note - SP in the works?

Andrew must get tired of constantly repeating:
Table functionality will be improved in OneNote 12.

Is it possible that a service pack upgrade will be available (even if beta)
for those of us with the current version?

There may be a service pack in the future to fix bugs, however, the
new/added features will be in OneNote 12 next year. The SP1 version was a
rarity in that it included new features, which a normal service pack does
not.

Hi Shawn,

As far as I know the developer team is focussing on OneNote 12. See,
for example, the interview with Chris Pratley on Channel 9.

MS Service Packs typically only contain bug fixes. The OneNote SP1
(and InfoPath SP1) were exceptions.

It would be nice if there were improved tables in v1 OneNote but I
don't expect it.

Channel 9? Is that BBC? ;)

The fact I even look through these newsgroups is rare for me. I seldom spend
much time paying attention to the details and inner workings of software.

Where would I find channel 9? I'm a stranger to these parts and your ways
are unfamiliar to me...

No. The added features in SP1 were an anomoly. I don't know if there will
be another SP for Office 2003, but if it appears, it will not have new
features.

All new features will only appear in the next version.

Some background on Microsoft's Channel 9 initiative, launched in April 2004:

"(Channel 9 is) designed to facilitate communication between Microsoft and
its developer and customer constituencies.

The site, which was built using Microsoft's ASP.Net Forums Web-based
discussion technology, uses video clips, moblog technology, RSS feeds; wikis
and forums to reach out to users."
