Tables in OneNote

I want the ability to have some of Excel's table functionality in OneNote.
This can be achieved via limiting the size and space on OneNote that will
perform data calculation and storing.

Popular request. Would be it be just as good if OneNote were to add some
kind of OLE support so you could insert a spreadsheet object in the note?
(like you can with Word)

Seems like rather a 90s solution to me :)

I expect more from MS software in this millennium, especially with all their
Longhorm aspirations.

Could just be you get your wish in a future version, John. Remember,
we're using virtually the first version (updated slightly in a very unusual
move in Service Pack 1) of OneNote, and that's not too bad at all. If you
haven't seen this before, check out the demo of OneNote (roughly 45
minutes): http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011423061033.aspx
I'd go bagels to donuts that you will find several items you didn't know
OneNote could do by watching the demo.

Chris,

Yes, I'm greatly appreciative of the great work done by Chris Pratley et al
on OneNote to date. It solved a major notetaking issue for my wife's
business. She and her staff of 5 love it. We're just hanging out for section
tab sorting, tables, links between ON containers and a few other
enhancements.

I would have loved a sneak peek at the version of ON which Chris Pratley was
running on his laptop in the Channel 9 video.

I've been through the demo once before and picked up lots (or "heaps" as we
Aussies say).
I'll go through it again today.
I'd go bagels to donuts

That's a fascinating US expression (I'm in South Australia). I've never
heard that one before.

 I changed it from "dollars to donuts" so as not infer that I gamble,
John. In the U.S., we've got a fast food chain called Jack in the Box,
and one of their TV ads has "Jack," in his very big head, is reading out
someone in an elevator who offers him a donut (with nothing in the middle).

The donut guy gets off the elevator, and a fellow steps in with a box of
bagels (again, a hole in the middle) and begins to offer them to "Jack" as
the commercial ends. The point being, if you were to go to one of Jack's
fast food restaurants, you can get a quick breakfast which has something in
the middle.

As for "heaps," I once was aboard a small cruise ship near Fiji with a group
of vacationing folks from the Land of Aus and a few Kiwis, too, about eight
years ago, and heard the word often repeated. LOL! You can do "heaps" with
OneNote!
