I am having a problem with tables. I am trying to make business cards using
an Avery Template (No. 5376). I can enter the text I want with no
problem--unless I want to change the margins inside each of the 10 cells.
If I change those margins (Table Properties, Cell, Options) and set them to
say 0.1 inches on both sides and the bottom and 0.25 on the top, the cells
"grow" in height and nowthe cells spill over to a second page. When I check
table properties for row hieight I am assured that each row is exactly 2
inches high but it just ain't so. The cells on the actual label/card stock
are that height (5 rows and 2 columns) but the cells in my Word 2003
document are a wee bit higher. Which means the thing will not print right.
Each succeeding row will be increasingly out of register. What am I doing
wrong? Is there a way to "lock" the cell dimensions? Specifying the row
height "exactly"obviously doesn't do it
Come to think of it, I have always had this sort of problem with tables. I
figured it was just my old printer. Obviously it's not a printer issue
since I have 2 new printers and still can't shake the problem.
