Tables

My Problem:-
In page layout view
1) I draw a 1" * 4" table.
2) I split the table vertically using "split cells", each
being now 1" * 2" in size(both of them are symetric along
the divider)
3)Now I try to resize the cells. What I am seeing is that
the divider can be moved across at 0.1". How can I make
this movement lesser.
