When I create a table in Word half of it dissapears in the screen. I have trouble getting on one page, if I drag it it might end up on 2 pages before.

Use the Table>Insert>Table... Menu to do the next one.

When the dialog appears, set "Autofit to window" and "Use as the default for
new tables".

That will store the settings so your future tables will be easier to manage.

And another technique that I've found useful when first wrestling
with large table is to set the View to Normal until you get it to
fit the page the way you like.

I frequently am required to insert tables that are maybe 18
columns wide and 60 pages long into Word and invariably that is
how I need to start :)

(and for those who are wondering why we aren't using Excel for
this, the third party developed export mechanism to Excel that we
use only installs a single font type in each cell so any symbol
font characters in the text will get trashed. Also, the
recipients of these documents use a significant amount of track
changes on them which is very difficult to clone in Excel)
