tabs in labels

I'm trying to enter a letter code in my mailing labels to the right of the name without using spaces. How do I create tabs that work in labels? I see my tab marking in the ruler above the document, but when I tab within the label I jump to the next label, not the tab mark.

Hi Springbox,

In a table, which is what labels are, you use Ctrl+Tab to move to the next
tab stop.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps

Within a table use ctrl-tab to insert a tab character.
