I need help setting tabs. If I set a tab in a pargaraph it will not apply to the next pargaraph. Is there a way to set a tab with out using format, style option.

If you are in Page (or Print) layout View your ruler should be visible. To
the left of the ruler is a small icon that is used to set the type of TAB
you want. Click the icon to cycle though the various TABs to get used to
it. Stop on theone you want then click on the ruler to place it there. You
can also click on the mark and drag it to a new location or drag it off the
ruler to delete it.

If you want to apply the tab to multiple paragraphs,
highlight them first. As an aside, you will want to
learn the use of styles if you intend to continue using
Word. It's a very powerful feature and the basis of Word.

If you want the change to apply to all paragraphs of that type, do either
modify the style or create a new style. If you create a new style, you'll
have to apply it manually to any existing paragraphs you want to change.
