Takes forever

When I am on a web page and send something to ON, a little progress bar pops
up, closes, another one pops up, closes, another one....well, you get the
drift. Sometimes there's as many as 13 of those little popups before my note
is done. I'm not talking about anything graphics heavy, or many pages - it
doesn't seem to matter.

Why is it "choking" and what can I do to get it work properly? I had ON
2003 and it worked beautifully - now that I've installed 2007 on a newer
computer, it freezes everything until that annoying dance is over.

Using Vista.
