Yesterday I tried this solution but was unsuccessful.
One important fact is that if i try within wordpad the behavior is
completely different and quick!
Any help will be welcome.

Check your temp folder /documents and settings/your user name/local settings
/temp. Word leaves many temp files behind that can cause a slow response.
Delete the temp files and see if that helps.
Another possibility is that these have change location and Word is looking
in the old location either for the documents or the template from which
they were based. Of course, WordPad doesn't store that sort of information
and will search any location you send it to look.
